Abstract

Résumé: La douleur chronique s’inscrit dans une histoire de vie riche. La réponse antalgique doit apprécier les composantes anthropologiques du patient par une méthode renouvelée de rencontre. Les recherches sur la douleur gagneraient à s’ouvrir à la philosophie afin de repousser les zones d’ombre des théories dominantes. Les 33 ans de pratique d’un centre pour les patients souffrant de douleurs rebelles nous conduisent à un modèle de prise en charge fait d’ethnosociologie, de psychoalgoanalyse du malade et du soignant, et de conseils pratiques de communication thérapeutique.

Abstract: Chronic pain forms part of a rich life story. The antalgic response must appreciate anthropological components of the patient through a new way of encountering. Research into pain would benefit from embracing philosophy in order to resolve remaining issues of the dominant theories. Thirty-three years of practice in a centre for patients with stubborn pain has led us to an ethnosociological treatment model, psycho-algo-analysis of the patient and of the carer, and practical advice on therapeutic communication.
